| Janet Jackson Honors Michael Jackson at BET Awards Posted: 28 Jun 2009 09:01 PM PDT  Janet Jackson made a brief appearance onstage during the 2009 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (June 28) in Los Angeles. The 43-year-old sister of Michael Jackson honored his older brother during the ceremony, saying, “My entire family wanted to be here tonight but it was just too painful, so they elected me to speak to all of you. I’m going to keep it very short. To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. And he will forever will live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family, and myself, thank you for all of your love. Thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much. Thank you so much.” After Janet left the stage, host Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo sang a tribute duet to Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There.” |

| Michael Jackson’s Father Talks Record Label At BET Awards Posted: 28 Jun 2009 06:18 PM PDT  Three days after his son Michael Jackson death, 80-year-old Joe Jackson hits the red carpet the 2009 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (June 28) in Los Angeles. Towards the end of his interview with CNN, Joe took the opportunity to promote his new business venture, a record label. Watch the interview below! The record label talk starts around the 3:15 mark. And here is the statement one of the family’s publicists read during the interview: “Our beloved son Michael Jackson loved you all. Michael’s children are our first priority. We will have further announcements to discuss our plans going forward. Until such time, however, we have the personal and legal authority to act, and solely Katherine and I have authority for our son and his children. We wish to handle his memory and legacy with dignity. The attorney for the Jacksons is L. Posted: 28 Jun 2009 03:14 PM PDT  Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz and her husband, musician Noah Lebenzon, welcomed daughter Paloma Louise Lebenzon in New York City on Saturday (June 27). “She is elated and completely glowing,” Ana’s rep tells People. “She is surrounded by her friends and family and so happy to be a mom. She is just really enjoying the moment. The baby is absolutely beautiful.” Paloma was born at 4:25PM and weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz. Ana, 37, plays Betty's (America Ferrera) older sister, Hilda Suarez. Congrats to the happy couple! |
| Transformers 2 Blasts Weekend Box Office Posted: 28 Jun 2009 01:55 PM PDT  Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen raked in a massive $201.2 million these last five days, second best to The Dark Knight’s five-day haul of $203.8 million. Despite earning a pathetic 20% on RottenTomatoes.com, moviegoers came out in droves this past weekend to see the Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox show. Posted: 27 Jun 2009 01:25 PM PDT  Sacha Baron Cohen rides atop a bedazzled army tank at the premiere of his latest comedy, Bruno, held at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Thursday (June 25) in Los Angeles. Here are some early reviews for the movie: THR: Bruno is only intermittently funny and all too often the “ambushes” of celebrities and civilians look staged. The movie is even a tad — dare we say it? — tedious. The 1,500 dancing inmates at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) practiced for nine consecutive hours Friday night/Saturday morning and only took breaks only to eat or when it rained. At the show, the 34-year-old actor put the kibosh on the rumors that he’s dating Jennifer Aniston. He said (in French, which he speaks fluently from his 1996 exchange-student days): “She’s a friend of mine. Simply, simply, just a friend. In America, its not like it is here. She’s someone who is super, super known. Famous. If someone says ‘hello’ to her, it’s given that he’s fallen in love with her. So, no. No. She’s a very, very interesting woman, but she’s simply a friend.” Bradley continued, “We made a film together (He’s Just Not That Into You) but we didn’t have any scenes together. I got hired in at the beginning of the casting, and my part was solely with Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Connelley.
