WAY better than my mid-2007 iMac for sure. Can't tell you about the models after that.

One of several in rotation. I use SnowTunes for the dark menubar (among other things), DarkDock for the dark dock :p, and Float for the indicators. Bowtie provides the album artwork, and I have a matching Adium theme that I just hid so I didn't have to go in and blur out the names.

I can confirm that I am a genuine iPhone 4 user who loves it.
And I can confirm that my ass itches.
(Point being, your confirmation about yourself means nothing.)
Don't get me wrong, I've had plenty of problems with my iPhone as well, just confirming with others who can do nothing to fix it... isn't helpful at all.
It's just that the only real 'confirmation' (at least the only one that matters) is done by the manufacturer's testers ... (Apple's in this case)...
AFTER you report the issue (https://bugreport.apple.com/), with clear & easy to follow repro steps.
So if you have an issue that you can consistently reproduce, with any software... lookup the manufacturer... see if they have a bug reporting tool (or a support contact), and report it. ^_^

You'd be surprised how many people reluctantly put up with AT&T's abysmal service just so they can have an iPhone.
People like me, who really like the iPhone but consider AT&T unbearable, are using older generation unlocked iPhones on T-Mobile, which, despite any of its faults, is far superior to AT&T.
I'm looking forward to getting my Verizon iPhone. I'm saddened to be leaving T-Mobile (their customer service is excellent, and their pricing and optional services are top-notch), but Verizon offers better reception in my house.
But see you are not leaving AT&T now, you are leaving T-Mobile.

Changed up the icons a bit since the first of the month. The wallpapers are still on a rotation of about 30 HD natural images however. Most, if not all from interface lift. =)

man these 2684's are killing me. i didn't make the deadline for the last one b/c of 2 power outages
How? Unless the power outages were each 6 hours long, there is no way. However, since it's full blown snow storms up north, I guess those must be common, just like down here in Honduras. Albeit for entire different reasons:D:p:eek:
I forgot to mention, if anyone has a PS3, download the Folding client to it! It works towards keeping our pace!

Soon we will only have one OS called iOSX
OSX 10.7 has iOS features that were sent "Back to the Mac"
iOS is getting OSX apps (Photoshop, Garage Band, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Photo Booth.......)
OSX is getting apps originally designed for iOS
If you imagine iOS and OSX on a line
iOS......................|.....................OSX
They are moving in opposite directions toward each other.
......iOS................|..............OSX.......
Eventually, they will meet in the middle and we will have either 2 similar operating systems or simply a mix of the two.
I think Apple thinks that by taking the best of the two worlds they are creating a "better" user experience. I don't know if this is the case but I think that this is clearly the inevitable long-term outcome. Time will tell.

Just to throw my hat into the ring:
Wiretap (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/freebies/)
I have found this very useful in different circs. It runs 'on the top' of any application and takes up little processor
* take a funny quote from a DVD and use it as a system-beep
* record internet radio to listen to later
etc.
I'll second this emotion - I do some side DJ work, and this app is great for ripping samples and remixing when I'm dropping stuff to CDs. Grab the sound in WireTap, convert it to anything from AIFF to MP3 in Sound Studio, and mix it with either Sound Studio or Peak. I've sampled everything from Ghostbusters (Annie Potts, "Ghostbusters, what do you want!?") to Ronald Reagan (all his quotes about aliens to mix with Blondie's "Rapture") with this app -- it's a lot of fun to use and completely free. I wouldn't use it for heavy duty audio, but for sampling and quick rips it's great.

where did i infer that blacks using the word was acceptable?
The way you wrote it kinda implies it... (bold emphasis mine below).
but yeah if a white person called me a n word i'd be mad so the same applies here.

How hard is it to uncheck these two boxes?
http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/6509/onek.png
And other publications, like The Economist, already come with the equivalent boxes unchecked by default.
If this is from their website, what is their issue with letting users opt-out in their iPad app?

The same thing we're doing on Mac desktops/laptops...right now. I'm no naysayer, the iDevices are what they are. I think the iPad/iPhone/iToy whatever name everyone attaches to them are innovative consumer devices. I think some of the backlash you are seeing is because the professional "Truck Drivin' " Apple users are wanting a bit more focus and attention on the devices that actually create the vast majority of content the iDevices were created to enjoy.
Let's face it...at the moment you're not going to be using an iThing to create the latest amazing 3D CG animation or mind blowing game and by the time those devices can do that...well, we'll be able to shout about it to each other's holograms at that point.
As someone said earlier, these devices are a great supplement to a more powerful Mac.No fundamental disagreement with what you ARE saying here - these are, yes, marvelous devices for consumers - and, no, I'm by no means ready to give up driving my "truck," but it doesn't state all the facts in play.
Ubiquitous, roaming, fluid computing in both phone-sized and less than 1.5 pound touch tab machines with useful battery lives are capabilities PC's don't even have, and the advantages of these are hardly limited to consumers. Which along with other factors is why something like 80%+ of Fortune 1000 companies are actively evaluating multiple iStuff for innovative business use. The applications and advantages in the medical and retail fields alone already seem limitless.
The storage will grow. The speed will increase. The screens will get better. The touch capacities more refined. The OS more capable. The UI more extensible. The SDK more robust. The peripherals more diverse. The form factors more innovative. The apps more capable. The "ecosystems" more evolved and intertwined. The number of things iDevices uniquely do will increase. The cloud (the big OS in the Sky of which all our devices are becoming clients) will become more, well, I'm running out of adjectives, but you get the idea.
It is also true that PCs and Servers and Mainframes and Routers and printing and wireless networking (and image capture and editing and distribution, etc.) will also continue to improve and evolve apace - Moore's law lives after all - and iDevices will become even better consumer appliances - but that in no way discounts the fact that these new gadgets will become, and in fact are already becoming, increasingly important to more and more "serious people doing serious things."
Some NY-based company back in the early 20th Century adopted the famous motto "Think." Some later upstart CA-based company in the late 20th amended that to "Think Different." Both are still around, doing great, and both still rely on those nostrums which lay at their roots.
The only problem I foresee is that you'll have to be careful to leave your 2020 iWhatever's phaser capabilities set to "stun."
Cheers! ;)

Thanks. that saved me from having to answer him back :-) *Low 5*
Geez, dude, it's all about saving time so you *do* have more time on your own. For example, texting is now used in situations where you would have called/answered a phone call before. Texting is more efficient because you can just put off answering the text until later (you could also not take a call and just call the person back later, but you wouldn't know how urgent the call was unless you took the time to check your voice mail if they left one).
Likewise, I use the humble web features on my Sony Ericsson phone a *lot*, to look up restaurant/bar addresses, movie times, etc. when I am out and about. Again, normally I would have no other recourse other than calling 411 or MovieFone, or finding a newsstand/bookstore where I could possibly look the information up. It would just be a time-saver to have faster, easier access to information from my phone.
Embrace technology, dude. It's only there to help you. You can always *choose* not to check your email even if you have an uber-phone. Heck, you can even turn the phone off while you "eat lunch in the park and listen to the birds".
