Ok, so collegiate athletics and following your team is a big part of college. Getting more trashed than Oscar The Grouch on a Saturday and going to watch your football team, or do a bit of mid week boozin to catch your college hoops teams. Because with the obscure possibility of baseball... football and basketball are the only two collegiate sports that kids really give a damn about. I mean I go to Arizona where we're nasty at softball and swimming/diving... but I care less about those two sports than Pacman Jones cared about his NFL career. So if we can agree that football and basketball are the best sports, then I think it's safe to say those students out in the middle of nowhere... sorry Storrs, are the luckiest motherfuckers this year.
Why do I say that? Because their football and basketball teams who were both pretty mediocre gave the students something sweet to cheer about. Let's start with football. They had 4 losses and yet they still had a Fiesta Bowl berth... makes sense I guess. I mean they basically knew they were gonna get their asses waxed by Oklahoma in that game so expectations weren't that high. But cheering for your team whose in a BCS game instead of the Meineke Car Cock bowl or whatever it's called is sick.
What more do I have to say about basketball? Even though I don't give two shits about softball or swimming, if we won a natty ship in either of those then i'd be pretty excited. I mean being called the best team in the cuntry is a sweet feeling, even though your a worthless student who had nothing to do with it. After seeing their football team in a BCS game... UConn basketball, a mediocre team heading into the Big East tournament went on a psycho run and are currently the champions. Are you kidding me? I doubt many UConn students foresaw this when they stepped foot on campus in August. BCS berth and a natty ship in college hoops... lucky motherfuckers.
Meanwhile i'm twiddling my dick with only 1 college hoops title in 28 tournament appearances and my football team has never won the fuckin PAC 10 and is the only team to never reach a Rose Bowl in the conference... neat. The Show's Eagles didn't even make the tournament this year and their football team isn't what it used to be... although the future is bright. Not to mention their best player, Mark Herzlich, had to spend the season prior to last on the bench because of cancer. And The Blob's Minutemen have been crippled with regards to college hoops because of Calipari's snake like recruiting. Don't take this shit for granted UConn... realize how lucky you guys are. Am I bitter? Absolutely. Am I jealous? You bet your tight buns I am.
PS- How ridiculous must 2006 have been for Florida with football and basketball winning natty ships... fuck it should I transfer?
