The end of an era may be upon us. One of my favorite MLB player's ever, Manny Ramirez, has announced his plans to retire. I cannot explain why he is my favorite player, he was a douche who did not always try, who asked out of town, who got caught with steroids. Despite all that I loved Manny, he did not give a shit, he wrecked the baseball and did not give a damn what anyone said. In many ways he embodied what everybody strives for in that regard. All the reporters in the world could say he sucks and it did not phase him in the least. He raked. Beside the fact that his career in Boston matched my prime of loving players and enjoying the game, Manny had fun. When he would bust his ass for Pedro in the outfield and they would point to each other those are the moments I will remember. Manny won two championships for the Sox so as far as I am concerned Manny has been berry berry good to me.
