Golf needs Tiger Woods. Tiger used to make other professional players look like shit. He made golf interesting because if other people were being paid to to hit a ball and not be competitive then he really was doing something amazing and that my friends is entertainment. Lets look at other seemingly boring activities made interesting by a dominant party, competitive eating- cool when Kobayashi dominated, once Joey Chestnut proved others were competitive it became boring, magic- stupifying until you see too many magicians saw someone in half, and then it becomes retarded, short track speed skating- awesome when Apolo Anton Ohno weaves in and out and you know he is going to win, otherwise I am not even sure it exists. This is the level golf has reached without a dominant presence. We want to see players quiver when Tiger is trailing on Sunday and see him eagle a par 4.
