Oh come on... wireless ipods make so much sense...think of the iTv,would deffinately go good with a wireless ipod,and a sharing option wouldnt be so bad too.As a uni student the itunes share function was really good for when i wanted to listen to new music that i would have otherwise never listened to.Oh and the whole chick thing...man you have to be pretty lame to try and pull a chick with either of the options lol wireless or wired,tech rarely pulls anything lol

What has been asked for and what we are providing is a no fly zone, which seems like the appropriate amount of military intervention.
If the people of Libya want Gaddafi out than it seems like air support keeping any heavy weapons he can buy subdued should probably be enough.

I'm all for apple pushing back the iPhone 5 so they can incorporate 4G. This would make sense since ATT is currently buying T-Mobile who has had 4G all over commercials for a while. If apple waits til 2012 to be the last phone to adopt 4G then sales would definitely take a little hit. I remember getting the original iPhone 3G, and its not like 3G was everywhere then... pretty much big city metropolis areas anyways.

It's a shame that these $65.00 chinese 1GB MP4 players with the Samsung chip have MP3 playback - Video - FM Radio - eBook Reader - Photo Viewer - Voice & FM Recorder, yet the Nano at three times the price does not!
Not sure about you, but I like Apple for its industrial design and simplicity, not feature bloat.

Cutting the Military is not for me ... Even though I would have to pay higher taxes, I'd rather scrap all these Government Casinos and Government Bookies we have up in Canada than reduce even one dollar in Military spending.

I'd be fine with waiting till fall to upgrade my 3GS if it meant LTE. Yes, I know the tech is nascent but the timing would seriously suck for entering a 2 year contract on a phone without it. That's the main problem. I don't want to have to wait till 2013 or upgrade after just one year (and there's no guarantee either carrier would allow it).

So lets see, I just bought a new mac book however I really don't like the built in antenna for some unknown reason and I go to walmart and buy an external card not made by apple. I then go the airport, where I'm hacked and my life is ruined there is no going back. Riiiiiiiiight.
What a crock, the odds of someone getting hacked is about .1% or less. What gets headlines? A Mac getting hacked not windows who cares. These guys are tools, and I love the links to the ads & the ad in the video they make you watch. Nice touch, way to make money off of Apples good name.

I have a 12" PowerBook and when I saw the new 13" MacBook, there is no comparison, Why are people waiting for a 12" ? Have you even seen the 13"?
it's a widescreen unlike the PB12... keep waiting, but it is not going to happen.
Anyhow, I have been waiting awhile for this upgrade, the store has been offline forever!!! Hurry apple.. My wallet is itching for one in black!!!

i agree that there'll never be a 12" again, considering they've all gone widescreen. and as everyone noted, the 13" looks sweet, but its just not as portable. the wideness of it makes it more akward to hold than the 12" powerbook. im hoping they do release a 10" widescreen MBP next year. they'll definatly be stealing some Vaio engineers for that gig tho.

The computer goes to sleep, I suppose. If the attacker has installed something like a rootkit on the computer before that, the MacBook will still be compromised when it wakes up.

I think they are using the "we don't want this to get out into the wild" thing as a scam. If you do it in person people might actually ask questions like 1) Why not use the built in wireless card? ('cause we're not good enough to hack that) 2) What are the security settings on the Mac? (everything open and enabled, making it childs play to "hack" in 3) Why would anyone ever use a USB external wifi-card with a MacBook? (They wouldn't - this is about as hypothetical a "hacK" as there ahs ever been).

It would be a big surprise to me that any method of connecting to an OS X Mac would allow it to be controlled without specific permissions granted by the administrator account, suggesting these guys left the account open on purpose or allowed remote access with the password known. In other words, once you access the computer you still have to get the operating system to give you permission to screw around.
On the other hand, if this exploit is actually true, it doesn't really matter who's driver is to blame: somehow they were able to subvert OS X's security. THAT would be an issue for Apple and for all of us.
All things considered, I don't believe they did what they claim they did.

Same here.. my MB started shutting down after updating to 10.4.8 (and the fan firmware update I think) It would shut down when I would just start her up.. or, as you mentioned.. after several hours of use. I formatted the drive and reinstalled 10.4.6.. but shutdowns continued. Weird.I read somewhere that starting up produces an early peak of stress and heat before it settles down again. This might explain why it either happens very early on OR when the machine has warmed up generally.

If Apple manufactured their products in the US, the iPhone would probably cost $999 with a 2-year contract and the iPad would probably cost $1599 for the 16GB model.
When you have to pay someone $12 an hour to work an assembly line and pay for benefits and payroll taxes, that raises costs a lot to a country where you can pay 75 cents per hour and benefits like health insurance cost $5 a month rather than $500.
A 25-page document isn't necessary and the law would be dumb. All that it takes is for someone to take a basic economics course.
Americans who complain about jobs leaving overseas need to realize that when they go shopping they need to put their money where their mouth is. Everyone pays lip service to "made in the usa" but when they look at the price tags in the store they buy made in china!
The thing to watch here is if the quality improves when production is done in Brazil. If the production quality is the same or better, that's good news for consumers.
Electronics manufacturers are not in China for cheap labor. The manufacturing process is so automated that there is very labor involved. They manufacture in China because of currency exchange rates, and because of lax environmental laws.
