Great, That's the guy who "redesigned" iMovie and screwed it up. I'll bet he was partially responsible for the "improved" (sic) iPhoto 11 as well.
I'll reserve judgement until this hits the streets.
Who also happens to be the guy in charge of Final Cut since the very beginning. As well as the first three versions of Premiere.

Don't like that electric blue note icon at all - reminds me of the Manchester City strip from a couple of years back before we reverted to sky blue. But maybe it will look better on the super screen of my MB... WHEN IT ARRIVES! I ORDERED IT A MONTH AGO APPLE, AND IT STILL ISN'T HERE!

You are still not getting it. It does cost a fraction to build things outside the US.
Ohhh, I get it. Trust me. But there's more to "it" than just a 3-paragraph overview of the entire way the US decides to do business. I think a high percentage of Americans will agree that the business models (taxes, outsourcing, low US manufacturing, unions, wages, health benefits, etc) are basically killing our way of life.
Maybe in 10-15 years the US will finally realize how much damage has been done and will start to get back in shape.
Ohhh, I get it. Trust me. But there's more to "it" than just a 3-paragraph overview of the entire way the US decides to do business. Don't underestimate the attraction of making this work for the phone companies - Patching the iOS today requires a series of user actions often deemed tedious by the masses that don't read forums like this. My wife for example. She uses her iPhone solely as a phone and thus it doesn't get connected to iTunes unless I take the time to do it. This frustrates ATT/VZW as they want to close 'security' holes or turn on/off features at their discretion, not ours.

this update as worked great for me so far! I was having random shutdowns at least 5 times a day and I haven't had one since last night. I also notice that my macbook is cooler (around 35 degrees C), and that's with about 6 programs open. Normally it would be around 60....and after hearing other people say that the built-in speakers are louder, it seems like mine are too....but that's probably all in my head.

Look at the Civil Wars in America and in England. There were no air threats then. I feel that is the difference. As long as Gaddafi has bombers and fighters at his disposal, he has an unfair advantage against the rebels. But hey, let's all agree with Rand Paul and let Gaddafi flatten his country and kill his people right on Europe's doorstep. :rolleyes:

(ahem) There IS a difference. Photoshop is far more advanced that Pixelmator for P-R-O-F-E-S-S-I-O-N-A-L work. It has a deeper set of tools and features available. Why do you think it's expensive? For one, it has many plug-ins and filters built in that come from third party developers.
Why do I think it is expensive? Actually I think the cost goes up in direct relation to their douche bag-e-ness.

For one it points to their severe lack of creative growth and foresight (even they choose to swallow someone else's work and bundle it in). Most importantly if the solutions remain third party they are paid for in addition to the cost of the basic app itself by the consumer.
I have been working in this field for over 25 years now, and have taught advanced imaging to other professional designers and photographers. Very little has fundamentally been altered in terms of workflow since the early days. And, that is not a good thing. I am not saying there have not been advancements, but I could probably list the the real significant ones on two hands total. Compare those with the total cost of each upgrade and the number would be substantial. The trend for most things is to push costs down (except maybe for cable, phone, etc.). Maybe Adobe thinks they are a utility now, and deserve a fixed amount each month?
Buy whatever tool works for you period. Just because you are a "pro" (or aspire to be one) doesn't mean you have to use the so-called "professional" tool. I hear that argument all the time trying to pressure folks into a MacPro, over an iMac. Give us a strong iOS and MacOSX upgrade this summer and then follow it up with a new iPhone in October and a retina version of the iPad and iPod Touch in the fall and Apple would be on fire for the holidays.

Can you imagine what this wireless zuneing feature will be like in the real world? I bet they haven't come up with a way to make the wireless feature only try talking to the zune you want it to, so it'll try talking to any other zune within the proximity of the wireless transmission capability.
You'll be walking down a crowded street in a hurry trying to get your music playing when all of a sudden a box will pop up over your interface "User s8trBoi wants to send you the song "Skate or Die" by "The Snotty Adolescent Band." Do you want to accept?" You think wtf? Then suddenly it disappears and a new box pops up that says "Connection Lost, would you like to try again? [retry] [cancel] [stop] [close zuneing port]" After this keeps happening you click [close zuneing port], which turns off the wireless capability on your zune. Then you can't share songs anymore, and the pref to turn it back on will be buried under a complex interface. So the wireless capability will be used for all of a week for most people.
Then maybe spammers will realize that this is a whole new fertile ground for their sludge. So you'll be walking down the street and suddenly a box will pop up over your interface that says "User "*BUY CHEAP VIAGRA*" wants to send you the song "ONLY 5 DOLLARS PER BOTTLE!!!" by "WWW.WE-R-SPAM.COM" Do you want to accept?"

Well my MB was bought the day they were announced - my local Apple store didn't have them on display yet :) and mine hasn't had the shutdown issue.

Come on guys, all of you saying the Vista is for $99, remember... that is the "upgrade" not the full install. where as osx is a complete full install. plus vista is suppose to be coming in 6 different version, i read something about that at here (http://www.theinquirer.net).

The only time a full version is needed is when a new computer is purchased and then the price for Vista is completely different because of the OEM pricing by the vendor.
Also just because you have the upgrade version doesn't mean you can't do a clean full install. In most cases Windows in the past only required that a previous version be present or that a legal original install cd was present. It performs the check and then does a full install.

i really think is comming out this tuesday i mean a lot of people are reporting problems of stock in a lot of shops around the world and it doesnt make sense that there is a sudden lack of mbps if there is no update commign soon..
